lululemon Tuesday Top 5 (2/4/20)

Tuesdays are the best day of the week in lemon world. All the ‘latest and greatest’ products drop in the lululemon “upload” – meaning all the new product for the week is added to the website.

And all the #lululemonaddicts out there are glued to their computers adding item after item to their shopping carts.

Each week, I sift through the upload and bring you my top picks in both women’s and men’s – as well as tips on sizing, education tidbits on fabrics + features and, hopefully, a laugh or two along the way.

The big stars of the show this week (in women’s anyway) are two new styles in Everlux fabric: the Wunder Train and the Invigorate. Both come in multiple inseam options and are designed for high sweat indoor workouts (think spin, HIIT classes, etc).

So, here are my favorites from this week’s new lululemon upload:

Women’s

Cool Racerback Shorter *Nulu

Colors: Diamond Dye Pitch Grey Graphite Grey
Price: $48

I used to wear Cool Racerbacks religiously, but I haven’t touched the stack of 40+ Luon CRBs taking up room in my closet in ages. In spite of that, this Diamond Dye wash is making me feel like I need this cropped Nulu version. CRBs are designed to fit tight, so if you like a little extra breathing room, I suggest sizing up one size.

Wunder Train High-Rise Crop 21″

Colors: Algae Green (featured), Cassis, True Navy, Dark Olive, Black
Price: $88

The first of two new style families in the ultra-quick-drying Everlux fabric is this Wunder Under meets high-impact versatility. This crop gives you the sleek, simple look of the WU or Align with a more durable fabric and drawstring waist to prevent that dreaded roll down. Everlux not only feels soft and slightly cool to the touch, it’s the fastest drying lululemon fabric so you can feel comfortable hitting the grocery store post spin class.

Free to Be *Wild 2-in-1 Tank

Colors: Vapor/Vapor (featured), Pink Taupe/Pink Taupe, Black/Black
Price: $78

Despite the name, this tank’s built-in bra looks more like the Free To Be Moved Bra than the Free To Be Bra *Wild to me. The intended support here differs from both those bras though, providing light support for B/C cups.

Align Pant 25″ *Diamond Dye

Colors: Diamond Dye Stargaze Pitch Grey
Price: $118

Other than camo, I don’t normally do patterned or light colored leggings, but I love these. I saw the Cross Waist Crop in-store today and the wash is beautiful in person. As with all washes or shiboris of this kind, each pair will look different and unique due to pattern placements.

Take The Moment Tight 25″ *lululemon x Robert Geller

Colors: Washed Camo Small Dark Indigo Multi
Price: $158

The website lists these as intended for yoga, but based on the Nulux fabric, I’d use these for HIIT + spin classes instead. Nulux is the high-impact cousin of the Align’s Nulu fabric – designed to make you feel like you aren’t wearing anything (in the best way possible). The side drop-in pockets are clutch for storing your phone and wallet to-and-from the gym.

Men’s

Fresh Form Short Sleeve

Colors: Chambray/White (featured), Vapor/White, Black/White
Price: $68

This reminds me of the men’s run-based Fast and Free capsule, but modified for HIIT and lifting. As per usual with men’s tops, this one is anti-microbial, anti-stink and moisture-wicking. Abrasion-resistant fabric won’t snag on a barbell or during outdoor climbing and bonded eyelets provide extra ventilation.

In Mind Pant *30″

Colors: Lunar Rock (featured), Dark Olive, Obsidian, Black
Price: $118

These lightweight, super-stretchy yoga pants taper from the knee down to the ankle for an inversion-friendly silhouette. Although they’re designed with yoga in mind, I’ve seen many guys buy these for lifting sessions, casual around-town pants and comfy, but classy travel.

Cloudy Pine Crew

Colors: Graphite Grey/Starlight (featured), Ink Blue/Starlight

Much like the Diamond Dye pieces in women’s above, the patterning on this soft cotton-blend sweater will differ slightly from shirt to shirt due to the fabric’s special dying process. The fabric is also treated with No-Stick Zinc™ to prevent the growth of odor-causing bacteria.

City Excursion Jacket

Colors: Frontier (featured), Black

The cut of this water-repellent and wind-resistant jacket was inspired by a true American classic: the jean jacket. This effortless silhouette can be dressed up or down, layered over a polo or a hoodie, worn with your fav pair of ABCs or, yes, even jeans. No Canadian tuxedo vibes here (no offense, Canada).

ABC Pant Slim *Tech Canvas 34″

Speaking of jean-inspired pieces, the classic 5-pocket ABCs now come in a new fabric: four-way stretch Tech Canvas. It’s lighter than denim, but has some texture to it unlike Warpstreme. Stick with your normal ABC size, fellas; they should fit the same across both fabrics.
