CrossFit / Weightlifting / Bootcamp / HIIT / Cycling + Spin

Everlux

Launched in 2017, Everlux is lululemon’s newest revolutionary fabric. Everlux was created as a solve for super sweaty studio workouts – cardio/HIIT classes, CrossFit, weightlifting, spin, Zumba classes – basically any indoor workout class that gets your heart-rate up and your sweat glands pumping. Everlux is designed to feel cool on the skin and to dry very quickly – in fact, it’s lululemon’s fastest drying fabric.

Everlux is the best fabric for you if: you like the feeling of a thicker legging, but want the technical benefits of a traditionally thinner fabric (breathability, compression, four-way stretch, etc). Everlux is lululemon’s most universal fabric because it’s both soft + comfortable, but also super technical.

Suggested Styles: Wunder Train High-Rise, Invigorate High-Rise, Everlux™ and Mesh High-Rise, Get in Line Super High-Rise

Luxtreme

Launched in 2008, Luxtreme was lululemon’s first fabric designed specifically for runners, although it’s now used to create most leggings designed for any high-impact workout. Luxtreme fabric is compressive and feels slick to the touch – more like Spandex than cotton – and is moisture-wicking, breathable, four-way stretch and quick-drying.

Luxtreme is the best fabric for you if: you like a compressive legging that makes you feel “held in” during your workouts. [ Hot tip: The more seaming you see on a legging, the more compressive it will feel. ]

Suggested Styles: Swift Speed High-Rise, Pace Rival High-Rise, All the Right Places, New Ambition Super High-Rise

Nulux

This fabric is lightweight, cool-to-the-touch and feels like you’re wearing nothing (in a good way) while also staying in place perfectly during any type of high-impact workout. You’ll feel compression in the waistband, but through the leg truly feels “next to nothing”. (This is my personal favorite high-impact fabric and I own an embarrassing number of leggings + shorts in Nulux.)

Nulux is the best fabric for you if: high compression isn’t your jam and you’re looking for a more lightweight fabric that gives you that “next to nothing” feel. [ Hot tip: I get asked a lot about the durability of the raw hem at the bottom + I promise you, it doesn’t fray, so don’t worry. ]

Suggested Styles: Fast and Free High-Rise, Train Free High-Rise, Alacer Tight *lululemon lab

Yoga / Barre / Pilates

Luon

This is the fabric lululemon was built on back in 1998 (and the only fabric they offered for the first 8 years of the company’s existence). Luon is a proprietary blend of Nylon and LYCRA using an open loop knit construction to offer a cotton-like feel with the stretch needed for moving bodies. Luon has what lululemon calls “four-way stretch” (meaning it’s ultra-stretchy), is breathable and has moisture-wicking capabilities, meaning it can pull sweat away from your body during sweaty classes.

Luon is the best fabric for you if: you like a thicker feeling fabric and want slight compression.

Recommended Styles: Wunder Under

Nulu

Nulu fabric was launched in 2015 and quickly became lululemon’s most popular fabric thanks to it’s buttery-soft feel and “naked sensation”. Nulu literally revolutionized how women thought about leggings and raised the bar on how a fabric can feel on your body. This fabric is perfect for low-impact workouts – such as yoga, barre, pilates – and makes a great everyday wear legging.

Word of warning: The process used to create the super-soft buttery sensation makes the fabric susceptible to natural pilling over time and with heavy wear – which is why Nulu should only be used for very low impact activities. These won’t be the most durable leggings you buy from lululemon, but they’ll probably be your favorite.

Nulu is the best fabric for you if: you prefer zero compression and value comfort over all else. [ Hot tip: Leggings made with Nulu fabric are the top choice for pregnant women. ]

Suggested Styles: lululemon Align™ (High-Rise + Super High-Rise), Unlimit High-Rise
