lululemon Tuesday Top 5 (10/1/19)

While writing this week’s TT5, I ran into a problem: the platform on which I create targeted affiliate links wasn’t working. After some research, it turns out none of my lululemon collective affiliate links were working. So I emailed the platform company to figure out what was happening. Almost a full 24 hours later I got emails from lululemon and then the platform company informing me that employees are no longer eligible to participate in the lululemon collective due to “legal and People & Culture restraints”, whatever the heck that means.

I love lululemon, I’ve worked for lululemon for over 7 years … but at the moment I’m incredibly disappointed. I’ve had a lot of fun with these Tuesday Top 5 and Thursday Markdown Lowdown posts over the last few months. It takes more time and effort than I realized to put together these lists, create links, write product copy and get my posts up in a timely manner twice a week; I’ve invested many, many hours in creating these posts. But it’s also been really fun, and I’ve made some extra money. I was really starting to get excited about blogging and expanding my post topics when this news hit me and kinda stopped me in my tracks. I’m still digesting the news, and I’m not sure what the future of Living My Bex Life is going to look like or if there will even be one.

Below is this week’s Tuesday Top 5 post without links. It seemed like a waste to do all that work and just never post it.

lululemon Markdown Lowdown (9/26/19)

I’m part of the lululemon collective and may receive a commission if you make a purchase through the links below.

Every week, lululemon adds new items to their “We Made Too Much” section of their website – this is just a fancy way of saying “Sale”.

Here are my top 5 must-haves from this week’s new markdowns:

Women’s

Hazy Day Sweater in Black/Alpine White: I tried on this cropped sweater when it first came out and liked it – not $128 liked it, so I didn’t get it – but I’m reconsidering now that it’s on markdown. There’s a touch of cashmere to make it extra soft, yet it’s still machine washable (still lay flat to dry). And the special dyeing technique used means that no two sweaters will look exactly alike. $128 -> $89

Align Short *6″ in Dark Adobe: I’m warning you now, these will go fast. This style has been consistently sold out in sizes 2-6 every couple weeks in black and other dark colors. Now that there’s a color on markdown (and a good fall color, at that), I think we’ll see a lot of people pulling the trigger just because it’s on sale. $58 -> $39

Here are my favorites from this week’s new product drop:

Women’s

Gleam and Glow Tank in Silver Lilac: The striping you see on this tank is mesh ventilation, meaning you’ll stay cool no matter how heated your workout gets. The high neckline is designed to provide extra coverage in yoga class, this seamless tank would work for any sweaty studio class. Heads up: there’s also a really pretty Gleam and Glow Bodysuit that’s only sold online. ($58)

Align Pant II 25″ in Polar Shift Emboss Black: One of my classic fav styles is the Align. I get to wear flattering leggings but feel like I’m not wearing any pants at all? S.O.L.D. We’ve seen a similar leather-looking pattern before but this one has a little extra sheen to it that I really like. ($98)

Sincerely Sherpa Wrap in Heathered Black: I have an affinity for sweaters/pullovers/wraps that feel (and sometimes look) like I’m wearing a blanket. This wool-blend wrap falls perfectly into that category. It has a high neck to keep out the wind and internal pockets to stash essentials (or holiday candy, your choice). ($168)

Here are my top 5 must-haves from this week’s new markdowns:

Women’s

Pack It Down Vest in Vintage Gold: Yellow isn’t personally my color, but it’s been mighty popular this year. This color looks epically great on some people and even epically worse on others (me). If you’re lucky and can pull off yellow, definitely consider this: It’s a puffy vest. On sale. Before it’s even gotten cold out. Plus it’s weather-resistant, insulated with 700-fill-power goose down and has a stuff-sack for easy packing. $148 -> $99

Tight Stuff Tight II *25″ *Online Only in Titanium: The name of these tights ain’t lying – these suckers are TIGHT. These are the most compressive tights lululemon makes and they’re designed for long-distance running … although I know lots of ladies who just like the compression because they want to feel all “sucked in.” Personally, these are too tight for me which is why I live in “naked sensation” tights (Aligns & Fast and Frees mainly, but anything made with Nulux or Nulu will do). But if you do long runs and need the compression for recovery purposes or you just want to feel as sucked in as possible, these are for you. $148 -> $89
