My best friend and I have been saying for years that we wanted to plan/go on a girls’ trip and we just never did it. We finally made it a priority this year and managed to go on our first annual girls trip! We chose to visit the Isle of Palms, South Carolina; since we fairly close to home so it was easy to plan.
We opted for a VRBO rental instead of a hotel. Glad we did because it was (1) cheaper, (2) we weren’t in the room other than to sleep and (3) we were right on the beach and walking distance to multiple restaurants and bars.
It was a quick weekend trip to Isle of Palms, but we took full advantage of the food, drinks and sun.

We had brunch at Acme Low Country Kitchen, lunch at The Windjammer and Coconut Joe’s, a couple dinners (and tequila shots) at Papi’s Taqueria. And we did one night of “late night” drinking at The Dinghy that all but ruined us for the next day.
Everywhere we went was great … the corndog at Windjammer was bomb, the fried pickles at Coconut Joes hit the spot, the shrimp and grits at Acme was delicious, the tequila at Papi’s did it’s job. (My only warning is that Papi’s closes early and randomly, so if you’re looking for a late night dinner, it’s not your spot.)
