lululemon Markdown Lowdown (8/29/19)

Here are my top 5 must-haves from this week’s new markdowns:

Women’s

Muscle Love Crop Tank in Rustic Coral: I actually wore this tank in Grey Sage today! And funnily enough, that color just went on markdown today too. This is such a great basic cropped cotton tank; pairs perfectly with the high-rise of the Aligns and shows off just enough of your sports bra without being too revealing. $38 -> $29

In Movement 25″ in Plum Shadow: What a great Fall color. As usual, the model makes the 25″ inseam look so much shorter than it is on me! When I wear these, they fall right at the ankle and look like full-length pants rather than the 7/8 length they are intended to be. Everlux material is probably my third favorite material for pants (I’m too addicted to Nulu and Nulux; guess I like feeling naked). I will say the waistband on these is super supportive/comfortable and the sweat-wicking fabric dries much faster than you’d think given the hand-feel. $98 -> $69

lululemon Tuesday Top 5 (8/20/19)

Not gonna lie, some weeks it’s super easy to narrow down my picks to just five things; today that was really hard.

Buuuuut I did it … so here are my favorites from this week’s new product drop:

Women’s

Ready to Rise Short Sleeve in Light Ivory: I’m all about crop tops right now and this one is so different from anything else I’ve seen. Usually lululemon makes either very loose, boxy crop tops (my fav!) or very, very tight ones that are a little too short for me. This one looks like it could be in the middle of those two fits depending on which size you got (I’d probably choose to size up in this style based on the pictures). I also really love the little cap sleeve and the v-cut back which makes it perfect to show off those cute strappy sports bras. The material is also interesting to me – Ribbed Luxtreme – haven’t seen that before in a top. ($48)

Time To Restore Short Sleeve in Nocturnal Teal: This is a throwback color here, y’all! It’s dark enough to be uber neutral but has just enough color to break up an all-black outfit. The cool thing about this lightweight cotton top is that you can wear it tied in the back or front, which totally changes how tight it fits. ($58)

San Fran Day #5: Muir Woods

I’m part of the lululemon collective and may receive a commission if you make a purchase through the links below.

Today was probably my favorite activity out of everything we did in San Fran (although the walking tour of Chinatown is a close second thanks to our informative yet very funny guide Linda).

Since we didn’t get to go to Yosemite on this trip as planned (biggest bummer of my life), this was the only outdoorsy thing we did and it was the highlight of the trip for me … so I (kindabutnotreally) apologize for how many pictures of trees you’re about to scroll through.

If you’re in the market to see giant trees, there are a few different options in Cali. Although they’re usually just called “redwoods,” there are two different species – the coast redwood and the giant sequoias.

So what’s the difference?

Giant sequoias only grow in the Sierra Nevada Mountains near Cali’s eastern border. They’re the largest living things on Earth, reaching 280 feet tall and 23 feet across (although the largest of them are closer to 300 ft tall and 30 ft across!). The oldest giant sequoias are around 3,000 years old. You can find these massive trees in three groves in Yosemite – Mariposa Grove, Merced Grove and Tuolumne Grove. You can also head to Sequoia National Park, the home of the largest living organism on the planet by volume: the (est.) 2,000-year-old General Sherman. We did not get to see giant sequoias on this trip.

We did get to see coast redwoods. Although they don’t usually get as wide as the giant sequoias, coast redwoods are the tallest trees on the planet. The tallest one, located in Redwood National Forest, is 380 ft tall — that’s as tall as a 37-story building! Like sequoias, these trees also live thousands of years. Try to imagine that. Thousands of years. What’s even more mind-blowing is that coast redwoods as a species have been on the planet for more than 240 million years (like, they were around when dinosaurs existed). Along with Muir Woods and Redwood National Forest, you can find these trees in Humboldt Redwoods State Park and Big Basin Redwoods State Park.

lululemon Tuesday Top 5 (3/26/19)

Here are my favorites from this week’s new product drop:

Align Pant II 25″ in Incognito Camo Multi Grey: I live in Align Pants, and you should live in Align Pants too. As always with the camo patterns, this one will go fast so if you’ve been on the fence with camo or waiting for more to drop, now is your chance. If you’re more into the cropped length, the Align Crop 21″ is back in this same print too.

Iconic Sweat Bra and Iconic Sweat Tight in Black/Ocean Mist: This pair is made using seamless construction to minimize chafing and to a close to the body feeling. The bra has straight straps for a classic look, while the pants are high-rise for extra support. You can’t see it very well in the pictures of the black pair, but the Graphite Purple shows off a really cool detailing pattern on the pants. Both pieces have a contrasting band on the edge, which is something I’ve never seen in lululemon before.

Track & Train Short 4″ in Grey Sage: These luxtreme shorts are perfect for a warm weather run, a CrossFit class, a hot yoga class or pretty much any other workout you can think of. There are tons of pockets to stuff gels or other run essentials, but no zippers to distract you during your practice. The longer length provides coverage (these are the same length as the Run Times Short, Hotty Hot Short *Long and Tracker Short).

Train Times 7/8 Pant *25″ in Jet Stream: These are a slight deviation for me based on color alone. I usually wear black or darker patterned leggings, but I can’t resist this bright blue going into the summer. It screams 4th of July and Peachtree Road Race. If you like this color but already have a favorite run short/pant, here are other styles that come in this color: Tracker Short V 4″, Fast & Free 7/8 Tight II
Non-Reflective Nulux 25″
, Speed Up Short 2.5″, Speed Up 7/8 Tight *Online Only, Hotty Hot Short II *Long 4″ and the Pace Rival Skirt (Tall).
