My new favorite quarantine hobby is drinking wine and online shopping. Turns out, I’m extremely good at it.

Please tell me I’m not the only one.

Other hobbies include: watching every single true crime doc and horror movie on Netflix/Hulu, reading trashy fiction by the pool (with a portable fan obvi), completing every puzzle in the house, binging true crime podcasts, overly compulsive spring cleaning. Oh, and eating.

As some of you know, I’ve been trying my hand on the LIKEtoKNOW.it shopping app. I usually post sale alerts and outfits of the day, but I thought it’d be fun to start a new series showcasing what products I buy each month. I’ll give you my honest opinion — meaning if what I bought sucks, I’ll save you some money.

But first, a little info for those of you asking yourself …

What is LIKEtoKNOW.it?

Basically, it’s an app that connects you to all your favorite influencers + bloggers and allows you to see direct links to what they’re posting about — clothes, make-up, hair products, home decor, etc.

How Does LIKEtoKNOW.it Work?

You can either create an account here and link your instagram account to your profile or you can download the mobile app the App Store and sign up there. (If you’re a blogger who wants to apply to the platform, follow me on IG then DM me for a referral!)

When you “like” a blogger/influencer’s photo, the product details from that photo will be sent directly to your email inbox and you can shop from that email. Within the app, all your likes and screenshots will be saved to your personal “likes” feed so you can shop them all in one place.

But here’s the coolest part:

Ever seen that little heart/circle logo in the bottom right corner of an IG story or post and wondered what it was? Well, that’s the LTK logo and what it allows you to do is mind-blowing. You can actually screenshot those stories/posts and they’ll automatically appear in your feed on the app for easy shopping.

And now what you came here for …

Moroccanoil:

Extra Volume Conditioner – I’ve been using Moroccanoil shampoo and conditioner for years. I do bounce around on which type I get; usually I order the Smoothing formula. This month though, I was feeling the idea of big bouncy hair so went for the Extra Volume. I always order the Liter bottles, but there are smaller bottles that are more budget-friendly if you want to give ’em a try without such a large investment. This conditioner leaves my hair smelling fresh and clean without being overpowering; I always get compliments on how good my hair smells after using it. I typically don’t wash my hair very often over the course of a week, so this Liter will last me three to four months. I highly recommend Moroccanoil products if your shopping around for a new shampoo/conditioner.

Root Boost – This is my first time ordering this product. As I mentioned before, I was really into the idea of big bouncy hair when I placed my order – hence the Root Boost impulse buy. Stay tuned for my review of this spray.

Dry Shampoo Light Tones – As a self-confessed dry shampoo addict, I couldn’t resist adding this on to my order. I’m usually fiercely loyal to Drybar’s Detox Dry Shampoo in Original Scent but I’ve been branching out the last couple months just for fun. [ Add that to my list of hobbies. ]

Smoothing Lotion – This was a free gift with purchase (one of two). There was an incentive sale going on when I ordered, I guess: spend a certain amount and get this smoothing lotion for free. I wasn’t paying attention, I just saw it in my cart when I checked out. But I’m not hating on it. Looking forward to trying it out when I’m finally able to leave my home and start to care about what my hair looks like again.

Detangling Comb – I have long, thick hair that tangles easily. I’ve been using this comb (in conjunction with Drybar’s Prep Rally) to detangle my hair after showers. So far, so good. I usually use a Wet Detangling Brush and was happy with it, but was just in the mood to try something new – blame it on the ‘rona.

Tail Comb – Another impulse buy I’m going to blame on quarantine. I haven’t really used this yet since I haven’t done anything to style my hair. But it looks cool and makes me look hella profesh.

Hand Cream in Original Scent – This was a free gift with purchase (two of two). I’ve gotten this hand lotion as a free gift with purchase before and I love it so much. It smells so freakin’ good and doesn’t feel oily after application. I would actually buy this lotion, but I know it comes around as a free gift now and then so I usually try to time my orders to coincide with that.

Target:

Beach Functional Pocket Towel – Sun Squad™ – I haven’t actually tried this yet, but it’s a towel … how terrible can it be? I’m excited to give it a try as soon as we get another warm, sunny day. The pockets on the side are what sold me. The organizer in me is excited to have a place for my lip balm, sunscreen, phone, AirPods, etc. without having to carry a big bag out to the pool.

Fun Beach Towel Yellow – Sun Squad™ – This was a nostalgic purchase. Something like 10 years ago (oh my god, where does the time go), I had a friend who used to say “I like fun” all the time and seeing this beach towel really hit me in the gut. In a good way. It reminds me of old times and makes me smile every time I see it, so this is a 100% thumbs up purchase.

Party Pong Pool Float Green – Sun Squad™ – I also haven’t had a chance to use this yet, but believe me, I’m chomping at the bit to give it a test run. I seriously can’t wait for pool party season to starts. Who’s coming over to play??

lululemon:

Align Short 6″ – I ordered four pairs of these this month, y’all. I know what you’re thinking, but no, I haven’t lost my mind. I already had one pair of these in Black and was livingggg in these since the quarantine started (and, uhhh, not washing them as often as I should be) so it was a no-brainer that I needed to invest in more. I ordered a second pair Black plus one pair each of the Graphite Grey, True Navy and Diamond Dye Pitch Grey Graphite Grey.

Align Pant 25″ *Diamond Dye – I’ve been lusting over the Diamond Dye Pitch Grey Graphite Grey for weeks. After watching them go through the sell-out/restock cycle in my size a few times, I decided I needed to just get them. I wear Aligns every day at work and tbh every day not at work, so I went for it. They should be delivered on tomorrow and I’m dying of impatience.

Flow Y Bra *Nulu – Another Diamond Dye Pitch Grey Graphite Grey purchase. Ok, maybe I have a problem; but this print is just so gorgeous I couldn’t resist. I don’t usually wear this bra style, but I wanted something extra comfortable to wear around the house. I’ve worn it twice so far and it was exactly what I was looking for; very happy with this purchase.

Uplifting Scrunchie – I bought two in Formation Camo. I didn’t exactly need these, but the color was on markdown and I couldn’t resist the price. I already have a few of these in different colors and love them for everyday wear, workouts and when my hair is wet — really, just anytime actually.

Inner Glow Short 3″ *Modal – Another duplicate purchase. I bought these shorts last year in three colors and love them so much that I bought a fourth pair #BecauseQuarantineLife. I’m all about comfort + doing laundry as little as possible right now, so a second pair of Inner Glows in Black were definitely a necessity.

Kitsch:

Luxe Shower Cap in Leopard – Literally just placed this order about 30 minutes ago, so I have no actual insight. But the reviews all look really great, so we’ll see. I’ve never used a shower cap before, but since I don’t wash my hair as often as I shower this seems like something I would’ve started using years ago. I’m looking forward to seeing how this cap compares to my current strategy of keeping my hair from getting wet.

Microfiber Hair Towel in Leopard – See above; no insight on this product yet. I ordered this because I have long, thick hair that takes foreverrrr to dry. I hate wet hair on my back, but my current hair towel has been feeling too bulky lately. Looking forward to using this hair towel post-shower when applying serums/creams/masks to my face.
